The electronic voting for the Kaakko’s Council elections has started and it will last until 6.11. 3 pm! All members of the Kaakko Student Union are eligible to vote – Remember to cast your vote! You can find the voting link in your student email, and be sure to check your spam folder as well.
A total of 31 candidates are running, from which 20 regular members and deputy members will be elected to the Student Union’s Representative Council for the year 2025. Below are the representative candidates for the 2025 elections.
You can get to know the candidates through our website. The website includes the representatives from electoral alliances and independent candidates. You can also meet the candidates at election fairs, held as follows:
- In Mikkeli on Monday, October 28, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM / D-hall
- In Kotka on Tuesday, October 29, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM / Associations’ space
- In Savonlinna on Tuesday, October 29, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM / Near the main entrance
- In Kouvola on Wednesday, October 30, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM / Main building lobby
Why should you vote?
Through elections, you can influence matters that affect everyone. By voting for a candidate that represents you, you can shape your own student experience.
The Representative Council decides on how the Student Union’s funds are used and the policies and principles that promote the interests of all Xamk students. The goals set by the Representative Council can influence decisions at Xamk, in campus cities, and even nationally.
After voting, you can pick up a “Vaikutin” badge from the Kaakko Student Union office.
Once voting has ended, the Central Election Committee will confirm the election results, and they will be announced on November 7, 2024.
