The Representative Council elections are held annually in November. In these elections 20 representatives and 20 alternate members are chosen for to the student union’s Representative Council for the following year. The Representative Council holds the highest decision-making authority in the student union, and its term of office is one calendar year.
The candidate nomination period begins on September 11th and ends on October 8th. You can run as a candidate or, if you prefer, form an electoral coalition using the electronic forms available on our website. The candidates will be announced on October 9th on the Student Union Kaakko website and social media channels. Any necessary corrections or changes to the candidate lists must be reported by October 10th.
Voting will take place electronically via a link sent to your email from October 30th to November 8th, 2023. All members of the Student Union Kaakko have the right to vote and run as candidates. Membership status will be verified no later than nine (9) days before the start of voting. You are a member of the student union if you have a valid Kaakko student card or mobile student card.
The election results will be announced on November 9th, 2023. The new Representative Council members will be introduced to their roles in the latter part of the year, and their official term begins on January 1, 2024.
