Board

The board carries out the operational activities of the student union in accordance with the law, regulations, and decisions of the representative council.

The board engages in advocacy and representation work within Kaakko, Xamk, the campus cities, and nationally. Nationally, Kaakko influences particularly through SAMOK. Board members have their own areas of responsibility to ensure diverse representation in decision-making that considers all student groups and aspects of student life. Additionally, collaboration is maintained with other student unions.

Among the tasks of the board are:

• Organizing meetings
• Preparing and implementing matters outlined by the representative council
• Issuing statements and opinions on matters concerning students, across all campus locations
• Informing Kaakko members about its activities
• Establishing communication with the National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (SAMOK) and other Student Unions
• Reporting their tasks to the representative council and the members during representative council meetings.

Moreover, the board meets with Xamk’s leadership and other stakeholders crucial to student life. The purpose of these meetings is to represent the student perspective in discussions and decision-making.
